Photoperiod and genetics determine the category of size plant. That is to say, all the marijuana plants that need a photoperiod of 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness to develop are called feminized. However those marijuana plants that need 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness are called autoflowering.
