Lineage Sour Diesel Auto

Sour Diesel Autoflower is a mostly sativa hybrid, 60% Sativa / 40% Indica, from crossing Chemdog 91 with Super Skunk. It carries citrus, diesel and herbal flavors over an energetic, sativa-leaning effect drawn from its Chemdog heritage.

With a Medium THC of 16% to 23%, it is a great choice for anyone after a happy experience with a good dose of energy.

Origin

Sour Diesel Auto has a rich, much-debated origin story. Its exact lineage is often disputed, but it is generally held to be a cross between Chemdog 91 and Super Skunk Auto, first making its name in the American scene, particularly in California and New York. Since then, Sour Diesel seeds have spread worldwide, with American and European breeders alike producing high-quality versions. This autoflowering version adds Ruderalis genetics to make it automatic while keeping the smell and flavor of the original.

Its genetics draw on the best of American and European cultivation experience. The American roots get most of the attention, but European breeders have shaped it too, and that global influence keeps Sour Diesel a lasting favorite among enthusiasts everywhere.

Sour Diesel Auto Sativa or Indica?

Sour Diesel Autoflower is predominantly sativa, 60% Sativa / 40% Indica, offering an energetic, uplifting experience. Its sativa dominance delivers a vibrant, euphoric high, perfect for daytime use and creative work.

Its indica side keeps things balanced, but the overall effect stays invigorating and mentally stimulating, pairing clear-headed focus with a burst of energy. For growers, Sour Diesel Auto seeds offer the genetic stability that makes for consistent yields and high-quality harvests.

Those consistent effects have made it a favorite with recreational and medicinal users alike, and many turn to it for support with arthritis, pain and sleep. Its clear mental lift suits a wide range of activities and social settings. Effects vary from person to person.

Germinating Sour Diesel Autoflower Seeds

It is important to germinate your Sour Diesel Autoflowering cannabis seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Autoflower cannabis seeds, from Blimburn Seeds we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique.

Before removing our Sour Diesel AutoĀ seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. The PH of our hands full of bacteria can easily infect them and ruin our germination.

Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.

Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.

Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 69.8 ĀŗF – 78.8 ĀŗF (21 ĀŗC – 26 ĀŗC) in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 6.5. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.

Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.

Flowering Time

Sour Diesel Auto runs a moderate cycle from seed to harvest, 8 to 10 weeks, which lets growers plan their harvests effectively for a timely, productive run.

Whether you are experienced or just starting out, that manageable flowering time paired with its stimulating effects makes Sour Diesel Auto a valuable addition to any garden.

How To Grow Weed Auto Sour Diesel Seeds?

Sour Diesel Autoflower seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, which helps avoid problems during development. The plants are compact, robust, hardy and moderately easy to grow, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your Sour Diesel Auto buds:

  • Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
  • In our customers’ experience with Sour Diesel Auto seeds, good technique noticeably improves final yields.

As an autoflower, it moves from vegetative growth into flowering on its own, without the light-cycle changes other strains need. It will grow on as little as 12 hours of light, but we recommend 18/6 or 20/4 for high yields, and its short cycle leaves room for several harvests a year. Its compact size also makes it ideal for small spaces and indoor tents.

Feed good nutrients at every stage, from seedling through the vegetative and flowering periods. When growing outdoors, choose the best sowing date and a spot with the most hours of sunshine. Indoors, set up quality tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor for clean air circulation and a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law.

Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ℉, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. Autoflower plants thrive in low humidity: keep RH at 55 to 60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.

Outdoors, as a true autoflower it can be sown across the season for staggered harvests. Healthy plants yield about 1.41 to 2.82 oz per plant (40 to 80 g). Indoors, the 8 to 10 week cycle produces about 1.15 to 1.31 oz/ft² (350 to 400 g/m²).

Ideal Climate for Growing

Sour Diesel Auto grows best in a temperate climate with long, sunny days and mild temperatures. The ideal range sits between 68 and 80 ℉ (20 to 26 ā„ƒ): cooler than that can hold back growth, while much hotter weather stresses the plant. Careful watering and well-draining soil round out the conditions it likes.

In the United States, ideal states include California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, which offer the pleasant, moderate climate this strain prefers. In these conditions Sour Diesel Auto fully expresses its genetics, delivering a variety rich in flavor, aroma and effect.

What Does The Sour Diesel Autoflower Smell Like?

The buds of Sour Diesel Autoflower are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. On the palate it is unmistakable: the sharp, pungent fuel note that gives the strain its name, lifted by bright citrus and grounded by a green, herbal edge.

It makes for a smooth, soft smoke and a creative, uplifted, euphoric experience. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates that capture its citrus, diesel, herbal character.

Experiencing The Strain

With a Medium THC of 16% to 23%, Sour Diesel Auto brings a creative, euphoric and uplifted state, bright and cheerful.

It is a great daytime companion, lifting mood and focus for creative or social moments. A mostly sativa plant with a sturdy main stem supporting its satellite branches, it grows well indoors or outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.

As a true autoflower, Sour Diesel Auto runs about 8 to 10 weeks from germination to harvest. Feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.

Sour Diesel Autoflower Terpenes

Sour Diesel Auto carries a deep ten-terpene profile behind its citrus, diesel, herbal character and its creative, euphoric, uplifted effect, with four terpenes leading the way.

Caryophyllene leads with a warm, peppery spice that sharpens the pungent, fuel-like diesel note at the heart of the strain. It is the one common terpene that interacts with the body’s CB2 receptors, which is why it is so widely tied to a calming, tension-easing quality. In Sour Diesel Auto that grounding note is central to the comfort many look for with arthritis and chronic aches.

Alpha-Pinene adds a fresh, sharp pine note with a clean, resinous lift and a green herbal edge that feeds the herbal side of the flavor. It is widely associated with a clear-headed, alert quality that keeps the mind bright. Here it drives the creative, focused character that defines the daytime experience.

Terpinolene brings a fresh, citrusy note with a light herbal lift that carries the strain’s citrus side. It is widely tied to an uplifting, mood-brightening quality. In this cultivar it reinforces the euphoric, uplifted feel and adds a crisp top note to the pungent base.

Myrcene rounds out the lead with a deep, earthy-musky sweetness that anchors the dank, diesel base and softens the overall tone. It is the terpene most widely associated with a relaxing, body-settling quality. Here it balances the lively sativa head space and underpins the relief many turn to for pain and restless, sleepless nights.

Filling out this dense profile, Linalool and Bisabolol add soft, floral, soothing accents, Humulene and Camphene lend earthy, hoppy and camphor-like woody depth, and Farnesene with Beta-Phellandrene round off the green, fresh-citrus complexity.

I am one of the original Sour Diesel breeders not when it was created but afterwards mixing it with Green Crack primarily. I was the black market picker for my area specifically focusing on Sour esque effect profiles because 1. I wanted that and 2. everyone else did. Immediate mood uplift off of 1 small hit, (Onset), 2 balanced and relaxed crescending euphoric uplift with more or less no ceiling, and 3. prolongation of the good effects, without causing couchlock sedation levels of relaxation i.e. “stuck.” I am an expert grower of all life forms specifically hard corals and mushrooms or a pioneer rather and a well known in relevant spheres beyond expert. I Grew this exact Genetic this past several months until a Chop date of August 10 (today is Aug 20) in mixed intense light multiple high intensity LEDs with strong whole wall window light for a few hours each morning, 24/7 illumination, living soil no till Deep Water Culture Advanced Nutrients mixed with Nectar for the Gods. Killed on week two of Flawless Finish flush doing a dryback to trich out and so killed in pot cut all chlorophyll out while keeping my terps (a trick for yall) and so was able to generate a well smokeable product quick for test smoking. Whole plant dried vaulted ceiling hung 1 branch bucked and tested smoked jar tested: FLOCKING real Sour terps, which I am surprised that is not often present. it has just enough of the chem stank w the fruity/citrusy qualities that make it “sour” or why it were called SOWA for “sour” as in “sour tasting”. The Onset is BAM (my batch at least keep in mind I am very experienced in growing Fire) Smile Crack Immediate Mood Boost and the rest of the effects are Accurate and Possibly an improvement on the street version, because it does not appear to contain sedation and the relaxation is lighter, similar to Super Snow Dawg, aka Snowdog, which IMO was the best of the Sours along with Sour Tangie, which I used as a mom in crosses a lot. Thanks Blimburn for Blessing Us with the extreme privilege of these Phenomenal Genetics and the easy to find, complete information regarding thatwhich. Guys this Genetic is FIRE Better IMO Than the Original or Probably as good grown by a Newb…..

How To Grow Sour Diesel Autoflower

Read Now

Sour Diesel Auto grows with a classic Sativa-dominant structure. Expect a taller and more open-structured plant than a typical compact Indica auto, with significant side-branching and good spacing between nodes. While more manageable than its giant photoperiod parent, you should still plan for a medium-to-tall autoflower that will appreciate having vertical space to stretch. The listed outdoor yield seems low.

While it may not be the heaviest yielding autoflower, you can significantly boost its production with the right care. To maximize your harvest, focus on providing maximum direct sunlight (8+ hours a day) and using a larger final container (at least 5 gallons / 19 liters) to give its Sativa root system plenty of room to expand. It’s also a heavy feeder, so a consistent nutrient schedule is key.

It can be moderately challenging for a first-time grower. While the autoflowering genetics simplify the process, its tendency to stretch and its heavy feeding requirements can be tricky for novices. We recommend it for ambitious beginners or intermediate growers who are comfortable with light training (LST) and are prepared to manage a vigorous Sativa plant.

Yes, this strain is an excellent candidate for Low-Stress Training (LST). Due to its natural tendency to stretch and grow a dominant main cola, gently bending and tying down the main stem and side branches between weeks 3 and 5 is a great way to create a more even, wider canopy. This will help control its final height and dramatically improve your yield by exposing more bud sites to direct light.
