Germinating Bubba Kush Seeds
It is important to germinate your Bubba Kush seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, from Blimburn Seeds we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique.
Before removing our Bubba KushĀ seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. The PH of our hands full of bacteria can easily infect them and ruin our germination.
Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.
Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.
Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ĀŗF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 6. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.
Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.
Bubba Kush Seeds Flowering Time
The Bubba Kush seeds typically has a flowering time of 8 to 10 weeks, making it a relatively fast maturing Indica variety. This short flowering period is one of the reasons why it’s so popular among growers who value quick turnaround times.
When cultivating this strain, the plant’s Afghan and OG Kush genetics ensure resilient growth, producing dense, resinous buds. Proper care and attention to environmental factors will help maximize yields, whether grown indoors or outdoors, in a controlled climate.
How to Grow Bubba Kush Seeds?
Bubba Kush seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are moderately easy to grow and hardy, we should always prevent any pests. You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your Feminized Bubba Kush buds.
- Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
- Thanks to the experience of our customers with our Feminized Bubba Kush seeds, we know that we can increase yields up to 20%.
For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform plane and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our Feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world. Remember that our cannabis plants also need good nutrients when our Feminized seeds are seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period.
When you grow cannabis seeds outdoors, choose the best date for your crop, a place where our cannabis plants receive the most hours of sunshine. If on the other hand you like to grow your Feminized seeds indoors and you have good tents, textile pots for growing, led lighting, air extractor, to circulate clean air and of course a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law. Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ā and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ā cooler than the day.
These Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) levels at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase. Reduce RH to around 40% during the flowering phase. By harvest time, you can reduce RH to 30%.
Outdoors, breeders in the northern hemisphere should sow their cannabis seeds in April for harvest in mid October. Healthy Feminized Bubba Kush seeds produce about 17 – 21 oz/plant | 500 – 600 gr/plant of buds each.
Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.15 – 1.64 oz/ft² | 350 – 500 gr/m².
Ideal Climate
Bubba Kush prefers a warm, dry, sunny climate, thriving in temperatures around 70-80 ā (21-27 ā). These conditions enhance the distinctive growth and potency of Bubba Kush seeds, encouraging its rich, intense flavor profile and high yield. It is important to maintain consistent warmth, as drastic temperature swings can negatively affect the plant’s development.
In the United States, several states offer the optimal climate for growing Bubba Kush. These include California, known for its generous sunshine, and Hawaii, with its consistent warmth. Arizona and New Mexico, with their desert climate, also provide excellent conditions for this strain, and the southern states of Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and Florida offer hot summers and mild winters.
Finally, although cooler, growers in Nevada and Oregon can also cultivate Bubba Kush successfully with a little extra care in temperature management. Making the most of the climate in these regions significantly increases the chances of a thriving Bubba Kush crop.
What does the Strain Smell Like?
The buds of Bubba Kush are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the heavy coat of trichomes.
The taste and flavor can be described as a blend of chocolate, coffee and sweet notes. The combination is intriguing: a spicy hashish profile over a background of earthy coffee and a touch of sweetness.
Bubba Kush makes a delicious, smooth smoke and delivers a strong, relaxing experience. Thanks to its large resin production, it is an ideal strain for the production of high quality extracts and concentrates. A good terpene profile enhances the flavors of the buds of cannabis plants. Terpenes are volatile organic compounds that are produced in the cannabis plant and have an effect on the aroma and flavor of the buds.
These terpenes act as a kind of energizer for the flavors of the buds, as they add a fresh, citrusy touch to the sweeter flavors found in the buds. On the other hand, terpenes also have an effect on the effect that cannabis produces when smoked, as some terpenes have sedative properties, while others can act as stimulants. For this reason, it is important to know the different terpenes found in a given cannabis strain before smoking it, in order to get the most out of the flavors and effects they produce.

Bubba Kush Strain Terpenes
Bubba Kush is a dessert-like indica: a rich chocolate and coffee aroma over a sweet, earthy base, true to its OG Kush and Afghan heritage. Its profile rests on three dominant terpenes that shape both that scent and its deeply relaxing character.
Myrcene leads with a soft, sweet and earthy depth that carries the strain’s coffee-and-chocolate richness. As the terpene most associated with sedation and body relaxation, it drives the heavy, restful calm that gives Bubba Kush its classic night-time feel.
Caryophyllene adds a warm, peppery, spicy kick that captures the roasted, coffee-like edge of the aroma. The only terpene known to bind the body’s CB2 receptors, it is often tied to easing tension and deepens the soothing body effect.
Alpha-Pinene contributes a crisp, fresh pine note that lifts the sweet, heavy base. It adds a subtle brightness to the aroma without pulling the strain away from its relaxed, indica core.
Together, these terpenes give Bubba Kush a sweet, chocolatey, coffee-rich aroma over an earthy base, paired with a deeply relaxing, sedative effect made for the evening and restful sleep.

How To Grow Bubba Kush
Read NowExpect a classic, true Indica structure: short, extremely dense, and very compact. Bubba Kush is famous for being a small and robust plant with a dark green color and very broad, wide fan leaves that can sometimes show beautiful dark purple hues. It develops a very thick main stem and incredibly sturdy side-branching. It does not stretch much, making it an ideal choice for growers with limited vertical space, small tents, or a Sea of Green (SOG) setup.
Yes, it is an absolutely fantastic choice for beginners. Pure Indicas from this lineage are legendary for their resilience and ease of growth. Bubba Kush is incredibly robust, forgiving of common mistakes, naturally resistant to pests and mold, and its compact structure makes it very easy to manage. It reliably produces top-shelf, potent cannabis with very little effort.
While not strictly necessary, it is highly beneficial. Because it grows so dense and bushy, light defoliation (removing some of the large fan leaves) during the flowering stage is crucial to improve light penetration and airflow to the lower buds, which prevents mold and boosts the size of the lower flowers. Topping the plant once during the vegetative stage can also help create a more even, multi-headed canopy.
