Lineage Tangie strain
Tangie seeds, from the cross of California Orange and Skunk #1, produce a mostly Sativa strain (70% Sativa / 30% Indica). It tends to show a citrus, earthy and sweet flavor with a bright, sativa-leaning high and uplifting, happy effects.
It also carries a Medium THC of 19% – 22%, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a happy, energizing experience.
Origin
Tangie originates from California, where it was developed by crossing California Orange with a Skunk hybrid. It has become famous for a sweet, citrusy aroma that reminds many of fresh tangerines. Popular worldwide but especially sought after in Europe and America, Tangie owes its reputation to strong genetics and parent strains with deep roots in the cannabis breeding community.
Tangie Strain Awards
The award-winning Tangie strain has earned international recognition across some of the most prestigious cannabis competitions. At the High Times Cannabis Cup 2013, it secured 1st Place in the Sativa category and 3rd Place for Best Coffeeshop Flower, solidifying its reputation among growers and connoisseurs alike.
The following year, at the High Times Cannabis Cup 2014, Tangie continued its dominance by taking both 1st and 2nd Place in the Sativa category.
In 2015, its quality and terpene profile were recognized again at the Spannabis Champions Cup, where it earned 2nd Place in the Bio Indoor category, further cementing its status as a top-tier sativa.
These repeated titles across multiple years and judging panels underline Tangie’s consistent performance, elite genetics and enduring popularity among growers and judges alike.
Tangie Seeds Sativa or Indica?
Tangie is a predominantly Sativa strain (70% Sativa / 30% Indica), ideal for anyone seeking an energetic, uplifting experience. Its sativa genetics show clearly in the effects, which typically bring a burst of creative energy and a clear-headed high. That dominance is also reflected in its appearance: long, slender leaves and a tall, bushy structure.
Tangie Strain Effects
The effects of Tangie are well suited for daytime use, delivering a euphoric, uplifting experience. Users commonly report feeling energized and motivated, with a noticeable boost in creativity, which makes Tangie ideal for lifting the mood or tackling creative projects. It is also known for its stress-relieving qualities, a popular choice for easing anxiety and low mood while keeping the head clear.
Germinating Tangie seeds
It is important to germinate your weed seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, at Blimburn Seeds, we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique. Before removing our Tangie seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. Our hands are full of bacteria that can easily infect seeds and ruin our germination.
Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.
Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.
Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ºF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.
Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.
Tangie Seeds Flowering Time
Tangie typically flowers within 9 to 10 weeks, making it a relatively fast-flowering sativa. During flowering, the plants develop dense buds with a strong citrus aroma. That quick turnaround, with no drop in quality, is part of its appeal, and under optimal conditions Tangie produces a generous yield, a favorite among both indoor and outdoor cultivators.
How to grow Tangie strain Seeds?
Tangie Feminized seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are compact, robust and moderately easy to grow, we should always prevent any pests.
You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your Feminized Tangie buds.
- Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
- Thanks to the experience of our customers with our Feminized Tangie seeds, we know that we can increase yields by up to 20%.
For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our Feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world.
Remember that our cannabis plants also need good nutrients as seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period.
When you grow outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where the plants receive the most hours of sunshine.
If you prefer to grow indoors, use good tents, textile pots, led lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and, of course, a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law.
Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.
Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest.
Outdoors, breeders in the northern hemisphere should sow their cannabis seeds in April for harvest in early November. Healthy Feminized Tangie seeds produce about 21 oz/plant | 600 gr/plant of buds each.
Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 9 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.47 – 1.8 oz/ft² | 450 – 550 gr/m².
Ideal Climate for Cultivating
The Tangie cannabis strain flourishes best in a warm, tropical-type climate with plenty of sun and moderate humidity. The ideal temperature range is 68-80 ℉ (20-27 ℃), which lets the plant reach its full potential. Tangie needs consistent sunlight and well-draining soil, as excess water can lead to root disease and nutrient problems.
In the United States, Tangie acclimates well to California, Oregon, Nevada, Colorado and Washington, whose long, warm summers and crisp falls let it grow robustly and produce high-quality flower. Even in warmer parts of Florida, Texas and Arizona, Tangie can thrive with proper care.
A great Tangie harvest comes down to understanding the plant’s needs and meeting them. Look after your Tangie seeds and they will reward you with a bountiful, high-quality yield.
What does the strain smell like?
The buds of Tangie are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes.
Its taste and flavor are a blend of citrus, earthy and sweet notes, led by the bright, juicy tangerine-and-orange aroma that gives the strain its name. Tangie makes a delicious, smooth smoke and delivers a happy experience with a good dose of energy. Thanks to its large resin production, it is an ideal strain for high quality extracts and concentrates.
Experiencing the strain
Tangie is a Medium-THC strain of 19% – 22% that brings a happy, uplifting and energizing state. This sativa-dominant marijuana lifts the mind into a bright, creative headspace, boosting mood and focus and keeping you upbeat and clear-headed.
Its energizing character makes it perfect to enjoy during the day or whenever you want a creative, uplifting boost. It is a marijuana plant with a sativa-leaning structure: a large stem that supports its satellite branches, and it can be grown both indoors and outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets plenty of hours of sunshine outdoors.
Our Tangie seeds are a mostly Sativa strain with a flowering period of 9 – 10 weeks. Remember to provide the right nutrients at each stage of cultivation to obtain resinous buds packed with trichomes.
Tangie Strain terpenes
Tangie is all about citrus: a bright, sweet tangerine and orange aroma over a fresh, earthy base, straight from its California Orange heritage. Its focused two-terpene profile shapes both that zesty scent and its uplifting, happy character.
Valencene leads the profile with the sweet, juicy orange-and-tangerine note that gives Tangie its name. Found in citrus fruit, it is tied to a bright, uplifting mood, driving the happy, feel-good lift that makes Tangie such a beloved daytime sativa.
Alpha-Pinene adds a crisp, fresh pine note over a light earthy base. Linked to mental clarity and focus, it sharpens the creative, clear-headed side of the high and balances the sweet citrus with a clean, green edge.
Together these two terpenes give Tangie a vivid, sweet-citrus and earthy aroma paired with an uplifting, happy and creative effect made for daytime and social use.
