Lineage Bubblegum Strain

Bubblegum seeds, from the cross of Original Bubblegum and a Secret Hybrid, produce a balanced hybrid strain (50% Indica / 50% Sativa). It tends to show a berry, fruity, sweet and tropical flavor with a well-rounded, hybrid body high.

Bubblegum is generally recognized as a balanced hybrid that can lean slightly toward the indica side. It is not strictly indica or sativa: its effects and traits vary with the phenotype, so while some describe it as a true 50/50, others find it closer to 60% indica and 40% sativa depending on the exact version.

It also carries a High THC of 13% – 25%, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a balanced experience that combines the effects of an indica and a sativa.

Origin

Bubblegum was first bred in Amsterdam’s Red Light District during the early 1990s. Despite its somewhat mysterious origins, the strain quickly gained fame for its distinctive candy-sweet flavor and well-balanced effects, and European breeders have carefully preserved and refined those traits into some of the most reliable Bubblegum seeds on the market.

The European lineage of Bubblegum has won multiple awards, including second place in two categories at the 1995 High Times Cannabis Cup and top honors at the Spannabis Cannabis Champions Cup in 2005, cementing its status as a champion strain. Newer hybrids like Bubblegum Haze, Bubblegum Cookies and Bubblegum Sherb, further enrich the diverse genetics associated with this iconic strain.

Bubblegum Strain Sativa or Indica?

Bubblegum is a balanced hybrid (50% Indica / 50% Sativa) that blends the invigorating side of Sativa with the soothing body feel of Indica. That even split is exactly what gives the strain its reputation as a fusion of uplifting and relaxing qualities

Because its genetics are built around balance, Bubblegum suits both Sativa and Indica fans: the Sativa half keeps the head creative and focused, while the Indica half rounds off the edges so the experience stays comfortable. It is a versatile, easygoing option for anyone who wants a bit of both in a single strain.

Bubblegum Strain Effects

Bubblegum is celebrated for a bright, well-rounded effect that leans creative, focused and happy. Users can expect a clear cerebral lift that sparks conversation and creativity, backed by a gentle body relaxation that keeps everything comfortable rather than heavy. That combination makes it easy to enjoy during the day or in social settings.

On the medicinal side, the uplifting, focused character is what makes Bubblegum popular for easing depression and fatigue, while its balanced body feel helps with arthritis. Built through careful genetic selection, it showcases the best of both its Sativa and Indica sides, a versatile and satisfying choice for a wide range of users.

Germinating Bubblegum Seeds

It is important to germinate your Bubblegum seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, from Blimburn Seeds we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique.

Before removing our Bubblegum seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. The PH of our hands full of bacteria can easily infect them and ruin our germination.

Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.

Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.

Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ĀŗF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.

Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.

Bubblegum Seeds Flowering Time

For growers seeking efficiency and quality, knowing Bubblegum’s flowering time is important. This balanced hybrid, with its carefully selected genetics, offers a moderate flowering period that ensures a timely and abundant harvest. If you enjoy this profile, its relative Bubblegum z strainĀ is worth a look too.

With an average flowering time of 8-10 weeks, Bubblegum stands out as an attractive option for growers who want speed alongside exceptional quality. Its optimal flowering window and strong genetic heritage promise a rewarding, complete harvest of dense, resinous buds.

How to Grow Bubblegum Strain Seeds?

Bubblegum seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are moderately easy to grow and hardy, we should always prevent any pests. You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your Feminized Bubblegum buds.

  • Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
  • Thanks to the experience of our customers with our Feminized Bubblegum seeds, we know that we can increase yields by up to 20%.

For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our Feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world.

Remember that our cannabis plants also need good nutrients when our Feminized seeds are seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period. When you grow cannabis seeds outdoors, choose the best date for your crop, a place where our cannabis plants receive the most hours of sunshine.

If on the other hand you like to grow your Feminized seeds indoors and you have good tents, textile pots for growing, led lighting, air extractor, to circulate clean air and of course a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law. Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.

Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest.

Outdoors, breeders in the northern hemisphere should sow their cannabis seeds in April for harvest in mid October. Healthy Feminized Bubblegum seeds produce about 3.53 – 4.23 oz/plant | 100 – 120 g/plant of buds each.

Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.15 – 1.64 oz/ft² | 350 – 500 gr/m².

Ideal Climate for Growing

Bubblegum is renowned for its sweet flavor and powerful effects, but proper cultivation relies heavily on the right climate. It thrives best in warm to hot conditions, with a temperature range of 70-80 ℉ (21-27 ā„ƒ) to ensure the highest quality and most potent yield.

The strain appreciates consistent sunshine and controlled humidity, conditions that replicate its warm, subtropical roots, and the soil needs to be well-draining to protect against root rot and fungal disease.

In the United States, many states meet these requirements. California, Nevada and Arizona, with their hot, sunny climates, are ideal, and in the south the subtropical conditions of Florida, Georgia and Texas fit well too. On the west coast, Oregon and Washington offer mild climates with ample sunshine, while North Carolina and Tennessee provide a balanced mix of sun and rain. Growing Bubblegum in these states helps maximize its genetic potential and bring out the sweet, fruity aroma and taste the strain is loved for.

What does the Strain Smell Like?

The buds of Bubblegum are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. Its taste and flavor are a blend of berry, fruity, sweet and tropical notes: an unmistakable aroma of pink bubblegum, sweet and candy-like, over a soft floral and earthy background.

Bubblegum makes a delicious, smooth smoke and delivers a balanced experience that draws on both its indica and sativa sides. Thanks to its large resin production, it is an ideal strain for high quality extracts and concentrates.

Experiencing the Strain

Bubblegum is a High-THC strain of 13% – 25% that brings a creative, focused and happy state. This balanced hybrid can help ease pain, but above all it lifts you into a cheerful, clear-headed mood that keeps you sociable and productive. It can make almost anyone feel upbeat and at ease.

It is a marijuana plant with a balanced hybrid structure: a large stem that supports its satellite branches, and it can be grown both indoors and outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets plenty of hours of sunshine outdoors.

Our Bubblegum seeds are a balanced hybrid with a flowering period of 8 – 10 weeks. Remember to provide the right nutrients at each stage of cultivation to obtain resinous buds packed with trichomes.

Bubblegum Strain Terpenes

Bubblegum is named for its aroma: sweet, fruity, candy-like pink bubblegum over a soft floral and earthy base. Six terpenes shape that scent and its creative, focused and happy character.

Myrcene brings a sweet, fruity depth that carries the strain’s candy-like signature. Though usually tied to relaxation, here it balances the brighter terpenes, keeping the 50/50 hybrid experience smooth rather than racy.

Terpinolene adds a fresh, fruity-floral brightness with a light herbal edge. Associated with an uplifting, clear-headed feel, it drives the creative, focused lift that defines Bubblegum’s daytime-friendly high.

Caryophyllene contributes a warm, peppery spice and is the only terpene known to bind the body’s CB2 receptors. Widely linked to easing tension and discomfort, it supports the strain’s use for arthritis while grounding the sweeter notes.

Alpha-Pinene layers in a crisp pine freshness tied to mental clarity and focus. It works with Terpinolene to keep the head clear and alert, helping counter fatigue and low mood.

Rounded out by floral, calming Linalool and earthy, hoppy Humulene, these terpenes give Bubblegum a sweet, fruity, candy-like aroma paired with a creative, focused and happy effect that fits daytime and social use.

How To Grow Bubblegum

Read Now

Bubblegum grows with a classic hybrid structure and is not a compact plant. Expect a medium-to-tall plant with a significant amount of stretch during the first few weeks of flowering. It develops a vigorous, branching structure with a strong main cola and long, lanky side-branches that may require support late in flower due to the weight of its dense, sticky buds.

Bubblegum was a game-changer when it was stabilized in the 1990s. It was one of the first strains to truly perfect that sweet, candy-like terpene profile, moving away from the classic skunk and earth flavors of the time. Its incredible flavor, combined with its happy, potent high and massive resin production, made it an instant star, winning numerous Cannabis Cups and becoming the genetic backbone for countless modern dessert strains.

No, it is an excellent choice for beginners. Bubblegum is renowned for its resilience, ease of growth, and stability. It is very forgiving of common mistakes and reliably produces high yields of incredibly resinous, top-shelf cannabis. Its straightforward growth makes it a fantastic, low-stress plant for any new cultivator.

To control its moderate stretch and maximize yields, topping the plant during the vegetative stage is highly recommended to create a wider, more even canopy. Its long and flexible branches also make it an excellent candidate for a ScrOG (Screen of Green) setup. By weaving the branches through the net, you can create a massive, flat plane of beautiful, bubble-gum-scented colas.
