Lineage White Widow Seeds

White Widow comes from the cross between a Brazilian Landrace Sativa x South Indian Indica, producing a mostly Sativa hybrid (45% Indica / 55% Sativa). The strain will likely have earthy, piney and pungent flavors with a strong, mostly Sativa body high.

It also has a High THC of 18% – 25%, making it a great choice for those looking for a happy, relaxed and talkative experience. It is also a variety used for many similar crosses, such as White Russian, White Amnesia or White Rhino.

White Widow Origin

White Widow originated in the early 1990s in Amsterdam. This iconic strain is a hybrid created by crossing Brazilian sativa landrace genetics with an Indian indica. First bred by Amsterdam breeders, it quickly gained popularity thanks to its potent effects and unique genetic profile.

The combination of South American and South Asian genetics gives White Widow its distinctive character. It has become a cornerstone of the cannabis community, known for its robust growth and resilience. As feminized seeds, White Widow consistently produces high quality results.

White Widow Sativa or Indica?

White Widow is a renowned cannabis strain known for its balanced genetics, and whether it leans more Sativa or Indica is a common question among enthusiasts. Our White Widow is a slightly Sativa-leaning hybrid (45% Indica / 55% Sativa). That balance is what gives it its versatile, happy, relaxed and talkative effects.

White Widow Effects

The effects of White Widow are a testament to its hybrid genetics. Users often report a happy, talkative head high alongside a relaxed body feel at the same time. The strain is celebrated for lifting the mood and keeping you sociable while also providing soothing relief. Its balanced effects make White Widow a favorite among both recreational and medicinal users.

Germinating White Widow Seeds

To ensure a healthy harvest, germinating your White Widow seeds carefully is important. At Blimburn Seeds, we recommend a simple and effective technique for germinating our feminized cannabis seeds.

Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.

Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.

Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ĀŗF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.

Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.

White Widow Seeds Flowering Time

When it comes to cultivating White Widow seeds, knowing its flowering time is important. White Widow seeds typically flower in about 8 – 10 weeks when grown indoors, with outdoor cultivation generally ready for harvest around October. Its relatively short flowering period and robust genetics make it an attractive choice for growers.

How To Grow White Widow Seeds?

White Widow seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are moderately easy to grow and hardy, always prevent any pests.

You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your Feminized White Widow buds.

  • Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat, or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
  • Thanks to the experience of our customers with our Feminized seeds White Widow strain, we know that we can increase yields up to 20%.

For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform plane and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our Feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world.

Remember that our cannabis plants also need good nutrients when our Feminized seeds are seedlings, in their vegetative period, and in their flowering period. When growing cannabis seeds outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where cannabis plants can receive the most hours of sunshine. If you would like to grow your seeds indoors, be sure to have good tents, textile pots for growing, LED lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air, and of course a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law. Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.

White Widow Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) levels at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase. Reduce RH to around 40% during the flowering phase. By harvest time, you can reduce RH to 30%.

Outdoors, growers in the northern hemisphere should sow their cannabis seeds in April for harvest in mid October. Healthy Feminized White Widow produce about 21 oz/plant | 600 gr/plant of buds each.

Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.8 oz/ft2 | 550 gr/m2.

Ideal Climate for Cultivating

White Widow flourishes in a warm, temperate climate, great for growers in regions with plenty of sun and minimal rainfall. The optimal temperature range for this strain lies between 70-85 ℉ (21-29 ā„ƒ). Under consistent temperatures within this range, the plants show their full potential, producing robust plants with high quality buds.

In the United States, White Widow acclimates perfectly in states such as California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Arizona, which provide the radiant sun and stable conditions the strain enjoys. Known for its versatility, it can also flourish in warmer states like Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. The steady sunlight and moderate-to-low rainfall in these states create an optimal environment for these potent feminized seeds.

What Does The White Widow Strain Smell Like?

The buds of White Widow are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the heavy coat of trichomes. The taste and smell can be described as a blend of earthy, piney and pungent notes.

White Widow makes a delicious, smooth smoke and combines a wide range of effects, including a happy experience with a good dose of energy. Thanks to its large resin production, it is an ideal strain for the production of high quality extracts and concentrates. A good terpene profile enhances the flavors of the buds of cannabis plants. Terpenes are volatile organic compounds that are produced in the cannabis plant and have an effect on the aroma and flavor of the buds.

These terpenes act as a kind of energizer for the flavors of the buds, as they add a fresh, citrusy touch to the sweeter flavors found in the buds. Terpenes play an important role in the taste and aroma of cannabis which may have any effect on the overall user experience.

For example, some terpenes have sedative properties, while others can act as stimulants. For this reason, it is important to know the different terpenes found in a given cannabis strain before smoking it, in order to get the most out of the flavors and effects they produce.

It is a marijuana plant with a mostly Sativa structure: a large stem that supports its satellite branches, which can be grown both indoors and outdoors, obtaining a higher yield with more hours of sunshine outdoors.

Our White Widow seeds are a mostly Sativa strain that has a flowering period of 8 – 10 weeks. Remember to provide the right nutrients at each stage to obtain resinous buds and trichomes.

White Widow Terpenes

White Widow is famous for its sharp, pungent aroma: fresh pine and earthy, hoppy notes over a resinous base, blanketed by its signature white trichomes. Its six-terpene profile shapes that scent, and four lead, guiding both the aroma and its happy, relaxed and talkative character.

Alpha-Pinene leads with a crisp, fresh pine sharpness that defines the strain’s piney top note. Widely linked to alertness and mental clarity, it keeps the head bright and sociable, driving the talkative side of the effect.

Caryophyllene adds a warm, peppery, pungent kick that captures the strain’s sharp, spicy bite. The only terpene known to bind the body’s CB2 receptors, it is often tied to easing tension, grounding the aroma and reinforcing the relaxed body feel.

Humulene contributes an earthy, woody, hoppy depth that anchors the earthy side of the flavor. It adds savoury complexity and rounds out the profile beneath the bright pine.

Guaiol brings a soft, piney and woody note with a faint rosy edge. A less common terpene, it deepens the earthy-pine character and adds a smooth, resinous finish.

Together, these terpenes give White Widow its signature sharp, piney, earthy and pungent aroma, paired with a happy, relaxed and talkative effect that balances a clear head with an easy body.

How To Grow White Widow

Read Now

The name is a direct description of its most famous trait: its spectacular and excessive resin production. As the buds mature, they become so completely coated in a thick, frosty blanket of white trichomes that the entire plant can appear to be covered in snow. This incredible crystalline appearance is the signature of the White Widow lineage, making it one of the most visually stunning and resinous strains ever created.

Expect a classic Sativa-dominant hybrid structure. This is a high-to-tall plant that will stretch significantly once flowering is initiated; it is not a compact plant. It grows with a beautiful, open structure and long, sturdy branches that may require some support due to the weight of its dense, resinous buds. This open structure is great for air circulation and mold resistance.

Yes, it is an excellent choice for a beginner looking to try their first Sativa-dominant hybrid. White Widow is famously resilient, robust, and forgiving of common mistakes. It’s vigorous, resistant to pests, and reliably produces high yields of incredibly frosty, top-shelf cannabis. It’s a very rewarding strain that helps new growers achieve professional-level results.

To manage its Sativa stretch and maximize yields, topping the plant during the vegetative stage is highly recommended to create a wider, more even canopy. Its long, flexible branches make it an absolutely perfect candidate for a ScrOG (Screen of Green) setup. By weaving the branches through the net, you can control its height and create a massive, flat plane of huge, crystal-coated colas.
