Lineage Strawberry Banana strain

Strawberry Banana, often called Strawnana, is well known for its consistently high THC, typically between 17% and 23%. That makes it a powerful option, especially popular among seasoned users or anyone looking for an intense experience.

From the cross between Banana Kush and Bubble Gum, it is a mostly Indica strain (70% Indica / 30% Sativa) with an earthy, sweet and tropical flavor and a strong, mostly Indica body high. Banana Kush pairs the flavorful Banana strain with classic OG Kush, while Bubble Gum is a hybrid of Indiana Bubble Gum and an unknown indica.

With its Medium THC, it is a great choice for anyone looking for a strong, relaxing experience.

Origin

Strawberry Banana emerged from a cross between Banana Kush and the Strawberry phenotype of Bubble Gum, a prime example of American cannabis breeding. Its seeds have since gained popularity worldwide, including in Europe, thanks to their robust genetics and reliable performance.

That widespread appeal speaks to its strong genetics and consistent quality. Growers across regions value its ability to produce high yields of potent buds, and whether sourced in America or Europe, it remains a top choice for cultivators.

Strawberry Banana Strain Seeds Sativa or Indica?

Strawberry Banana is a mostly Indica strain, from the union of Banana Kush and the Strawberry pheno of Bubble Gum. The combination leans heavily indica (70% Indica / 30% Sativa), offering a relaxing, calming experience, and the plants typically show the structure and broad foliage characteristic of indica varieties.

Despite that indica dominance, Strawberry Banana also carries some sativa traits, such as a mildly uplifting, euphoric edge. The blend makes for a balanced experience that pairs physical relaxation with a gentle cerebral lift, suitable for a range of occasions and users.

Strawberry Banana Strain Effects

The effects of Strawberry Banana are predominantly happy, relaxed and talkative. Users often feel a deep sense of calm and physical relaxation, which makes it ideal for unwinding after a long day, and many reach for it to help with low mood, restless nights and muscle tension.

Alongside that calm, it delivers a subtle cerebral lift that can brighten the mood with a gentle, manageable euphoria. The mix of physical relaxation and a clear, sociable head makes it a versatile strain appreciated by both medicinal and recreational users.

Germinating Strawberry Banana seeds

It is important to germinate your weed seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, at Blimburn Seeds, we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique. Before removing our Strawberry Banana seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. Our hands are full of bacteria that can easily infect seeds and ruin our germination.

Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.

Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.

Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ĀŗF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.

Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.

Strawberry Banana Strain Seeds Flowering Time

Strawberry Banana typically flowers in about 8 to 10 weeks, a standard window for an indica-dominant hybrid that lets growers plan their cycles effectively. The seeds are known for their reliability, producing high-quality yields within this timeframe.

During flowering, the plants develop dense, resinous buds that are rich in flavor and potency. That manageable timing, combined with the strain’s high yield and aromatic profile, makes it a favorite among cultivators. Optimal growing conditions will maximize the potential of your Strawberry Banana crop.

How to grow Strawberry Banana strain seeds?

Strawberry Banana seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are moderately easy to grow and hardy, we should always prevent any pests.

You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your feminized Strawberry Banana buds.

  • Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
  • Thanks to the experience of our customers with our feminized Strawberry Banana seeds, we know that we can increase yields by up to 20%.

For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world.

Remember that our plants also need good nutrients as seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period.

When growing outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where the plants receive the most hours of sunshine. If you prefer to grow indoors, use good tents, textile pots, led lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and, of course, a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law.

Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.

Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest.

Outdoors, growers in the Northern Hemisphere should sow in spring to harvest around October. Healthy feminized Strawberry Banana seeds produce about 21.16 oz/plant | 600 gr/plant of buds each.

Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.31 – 1.64 oz/ft² | 400 – 500 gr/m².

Ideal Climate for Growing

Strawberry Banana flourishes in a temperate, Mediterranean-style climate with gentle summers and moderate autumns. The optimal range is 70-85 ℉ (21-29 ā„ƒ) for maximum growth. It adapts to different altitudes but does best at lower elevations with ample sunshine, with annual rainfall ideally between 15-30 inches (380-760 mm) and well-drained soil to prevent root rot.

In the U.S., it performs exceptionally well in states whose climate mirrors those needs, including California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Wherever you grow it, the right balance of temperature, sunlight and moisture is the key to success with this flavorful strain.

What does the strain smell like?

The buds of Strawberry Banana are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. Its taste and aroma are a blend of earthy, sweet and tropical notes, tasting much like a strawberry and banana smoothie over a creamy base.

Strawberry Banana makes a delicious, smooth smoke and delivers a strong, relaxing experience. Thanks to its large resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high quality extracts and concentrates.

Experiencing the strain

Strawberry Banana is a Medium-THC strain of 17% – 23% that brings a happy, relaxed and talkative state. This mostly Indica marijuana settles the body into a comfortable calm while keeping the mood bright and sociable, so it can make anyone feel cheerful and at ease.

It is perfect to enjoy in the evening after a long day. The plant has a mostly Indica structure, with a sturdy stem that supports its branches, and can be grown both indoors and outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets plenty of hours of sunshine outdoors.

Our Strawberry Banana seeds are a mostly Indica strain with a flowering period of 8 – 10 weeks. Remember to provide the right nutrients at each stage of cultivation to obtain resinous buds packed with trichomes.

Strawberry Banana Strain terpenes

Strawberry Banana carries a sweet, creamy aroma of earthy, tropical fruit, like a strawberry-banana smoothie, built on a rich profile of twelve terpenes. Four dominant players shape both its scent and its happy, relaxed effect.

Myrcene forms the earthy, musky-sweet base with a ripe tropical edge. The most common cannabis terpene and the one most tied to body relaxation, it drives the soothing calm at the heart of this indica and supports its use for sleep.

Caryophyllene adds a warm, peppery spice and is the only terpene known to bind the body’s CB2 receptors, widely linked to easing tension and muscle spasms.

Citral contributes a bright lemon-citrus lift that freshens the sweet, creamy fruit character of the aroma.

Alpha-Pinene brings a fresh pine note tied to clarity and alertness, keeping the head bright and sociable so the relaxation stays happy and talkative rather than foggy.

Rounding things out, Humulene adds an earthy, hoppy warmth, Borneol and Camphene cooling camphor-herbal tones tied to easing muscle tension, Eugenol a warm clove spice, Farnesene a soft green-floral calm, and Alpha-Cedrene, Cadinene and Fenchol woody, earthy depth, giving Strawberry Banana an earthy, sweet and tropical aroma paired with a happy, relaxed and talkative effect.

How To Grow Strawberry Banana

Read Now

Expect a vigorous, medium-to-tall plant with a classic Sativa-dominant structure. It is not a compact plant. It will stretch significantly, often doubling in size during the flowering stage, and develop long, elegant branches with a beautiful open framework. This structure makes it an ideal candidate for training techniques to manage its height and fill out its frame.

It can be moderately challenging for a first-time grower. While it is very resilient to mold and pests (a trait from both parents), its aggressive Sativa stretch requires proactive management. Beginners will need to be prepared to control its height with techniques like topping or LST (Low-Stress Training) to prevent it from outgrowing their indoor space.

Strawberry Banana is a world-famous “hash plant” and a favorite of extract artists. Its true value lies in its massive resin production and unique terpene profile. It produces an incredible amount of large-headed trichomes, leading to huge yields for bubble hash and rosin. Most importantly, its signature “banana strawberry smoothie” flavor is highly sought after, creating a connoisseur-grade concentrate that is bursting with unparalleled flavor.

Taming its Sativa vigor is the key to a successful indoor harvest. We highly recommend topping the plant multiple times during its long vegetative stage to create a much wider and bushier canopy. Its long and flexible branches make it an absolutely perfect candidate for a ScrOG (Screen of Green) setup, which will allow you to control the stretch and create a massive, flat plane of beautiful, fruity colas.
