Lineage Alaskan Purple Seeds

Alaskan Purple is a mostly indica hybrid, 70% Indica / 30% Sativa, from crossing Northern Lights x Afghan. It carries citrus, earthy, hashish and sweet flavors over a strong, mostly indica body high. With a Medium THC of 15% to 20%, it is a great choice for anyone after a strong, relaxing experience.

Many turn to it for support with fatigue, muscle spasms and stress. As with any cannabis strain, it is best to consult a healthcare professional before using Alaskan Purple for medical purposes.

Origin

Alaskan Purple is a cross between Northern Lights and Afghan, two famous indica strains known for their potency and resilience. Alongside that strong indica background, it also carries OG Kush and Brazilian sativa genetics, giving it a unique profile that blends relaxation with uplifting effects.

Blimburn Seeds refined it further within the Northern Lights and Afghan family, in the vein of Northern Lights x Chronic. The result: Alaskan Purple seeds offer a reliable growing experience and a balanced mix of indica and sativa characteristics.

Alaskan Purple Sativa or Indica?

Alaskan Purple is an indica-dominant hybrid, 70% Indica / 30% Sativa. It combines the relaxing, body-focused effects of its Northern Lights and Afghan heritage with the uplifting qualities of its Brazilian sativa side, for a versatile strain that offers both physical relaxation and mental clarity.

While the indica dominance is prominent, the sativa influence adds an energetic, creative edge, suitable for both day and evening use. Alaskan Purple seeds consistently produce plants with this hybrid structure, giving growers the best of both worlds.

Alaskan Purple Effects

Alaskan Purple offers a balanced mix of physical relaxation and mental stimulation. Thanks to its Northern Lights and Afghan genetics, it delivers deep body relaxation, ideal for easing stress and tension, while its Brazilian sativa side brings a mild cerebral lift that encourages creativity and clarity without overwhelming sedation, leaving you focused, happy and relaxed.

It is particularly popular with medicinal users seeking relief from muscle spasms, stress and fatigue, all while keeping an uplifted mood. That mix of soothing and energizing effects makes it a favorite for recreational and therapeutic use alike. Effects vary from person to person.

Germinating Alaskan Purple Strain

It is important to germinate your Alaskan Purple cannabis seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, at Blimburn Seeds, we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique.

Before removing our Alaskan Purple Feminized seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. Bacteria can easily infect seeds and ruin the germination process, so be sure to wear gloves.

Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.

Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.

Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 69.8 ºF – 78.8 ºF (21 ºC – 26 ºC) in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 6.5. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.

Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.

Alaskan Purple Flowering Time

Alaskan Purple is known for its relatively short flowering time, a trait inherited from its indica-dominant genetics. On average it flowers in 8 to 10 weeks, an attractive option for growers looking for fast, reliable results.

Its robust Northern Lights and Afghan genetics ensure consistent flowering and solid yields. With proper care, Alaskan Purple produces dense, resinous buds, a reliable choice for novice and experienced cultivators after a quick turnaround and a quality harvest.

How to Grow Alaskan Purple Strain

Alaskan Purple seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions. The plants are compact, robust, hardy and moderately easy to grow, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your buds:

  • Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
  • In our customers’ experience with Alaskan Purple, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.

For indoor cultivation, we advise wide, vertical spaces and the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and build up the lower flowers. We also have guides to grow outdoors and indoors for any area of the world. Feed quality nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages.

Outdoors, choose a sunny spot; indoors, set up good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter. Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ℉, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. These plants prefer low humidity: 55 to 60% in the vegetative phase, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.

Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in April for a harvest in mid-October, at about 17.64 to 23.28 oz per plant (500 to 660 g). Indoors, the cycle runs 8 to 10 weeks with yields of 1.47 oz/ft² (450 g/m²).

Perfect Climate for Cultivating

Alaskan Purple flourishes in a temperate climate or any environment with consistent, warm temperatures. Optimal growth falls between 70 and 85 ℉ (21 to 29 ℃), the right heat for it to reach its full potential. It adapts well to different elevations but favors sunny areas with constant sunlight. It is resilient to varying weather, though annual rainfall of 15 to 30 inches (380 to 760 mm) with well-draining soil is best to avoid root rot.

In the United States, states with relatively warmer climates provide ideal conditions, including California, Nevada, Florida and Arizona. Growers in Oregon, Washington, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and even Hawaii have also found success, a sign of the strain’s versatility across different conditions.

What does the Strain Smell Like?

The buds of Alaskan Purple are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. On the palate it blends bright citrus with a deep, earthy, hash-like base and a sweet finish, the classic character of its Afghan and Northern Lights heritage.

Alaskan Purple makes for a smooth, soft smoke and a strong, relaxing experience. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates that capture its citrusy, earthy, hashy profile.

Experiencing the Strain

With a Medium THC of 15% to 20%, Alaskan Purple brings a happy, deeply relaxed state of body and mind with a focused, clear-headed edge. It leaves you cheerful and at ease, settling into a comfortable body calm, perfect for the evening after a long day.

It is a mostly indica plant with a sturdy main stem that supports its satellite branches. It grows well indoors or outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.

Alaskan Purple is a mostly indica strain that takes about 8 to 10 weeks from germination to harvest. Feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.

Cannabis Terpenes Alaskan Purple Strain

Alaskan Purple carries a broad twelve-terpene profile, bright citrus up top over a deep, earthy, hash-like base, that shapes both its flavor and its relaxing indica high, with four terpenes leading the way.

Myrcene is the backbone of the profile, a ripe, earthy-musky note with a soft sweetness that carries the hashy, Afghan character and gives the smoke its weight. It is widely associated with a deeply relaxing, muscle-softening quality, and here it sits behind the strain’s use for muscle spasms and physical tension.

Caryophyllene adds a warm, peppery spice that deepens the earthy base. It is the one terpene that interacts with the body’s CB2 receptors and is widely tied to calming, anti-inflammatory properties, central here to the relief many seek for muscle spasms and everyday stress.

Citral brings the signature lift: a sharp, lemony citrus note that defines the strain’s citrus flavor and brightens the earthy backdrop. It is widely associated with a fresh, mood-lifting quality, and here it leans into the strain’s use against stress and low energy.

Humulene rounds out the base with a dry, earthy, hoppy, woody note that echoes the Caryophyllene. It is widely linked to soothing, anti-inflammatory qualities, reinforcing the body-easing character behind the strain’s use for spasms and tension.

Rounding out the profile, Alpha-Pinene adds crisp pine freshness, Eugenol a warm clove spice, Borneol, Camphene and Fenchol cool, camphor-like and herbal touches, Alpha-Cedrene and Cadinene woody, cedar-like depth, and Farnesene a soft green sweetness that complete the aroma.
