Lineage Candy Kush Strain
Candy Kush is a mostly indica hybrid, 60% Indica / 40% Sativa, from crossing OG Kush with Trainwreck.
It carries a fruity, sweet flavor over a strong, mostly indica body high. With a THC of 14% to 19%, it is a great choice for anyone after a strong, relaxing experience.
Origin
Candy Kush originated in the USA, created by crossing the legendary OG Kush with Trainwreck (T4). It combines classic Kush genetics with diverse influences from Mexican, Thai and Afghan landraces, for a well-balanced hybrid with robust traits and unique flavors.
It is cherished for its sweet, candy-like aroma and powerful effects. That carefully selected lineage brings together the strength and resilience of Kush with the exotic complexity of its parent strains, a popular choice for growers and users after a flavorful, reliable variety.
Candy Kush Strain Awards
Candy Kush took 3rd place, Outdoor, at Spannabis 2012, one of Europeās most prestigious cannabis competitions. That podium finish highlights its adaptability to outdoor cultivation, with vigorous structure, reliable resin production and consistent flower development under natural conditions.
Recognition in the Outdoor category confirms its genetic stability and dependable performance in open-air environments, reinforcing its reputation as a resilient, high-quality variety valued for its balanced profile and cultivation reliability.
Candy Kush Strain Sativa Or Indica?
Candy Kush is an indica-leaning hybrid, 60% Indica / 40% Sativa. It offers the relaxing body high typical of indicas while still delivering an uplifting cerebral edge from its sativa side, which makes it versatile for day or evening use.
Growers appreciate its balanced structure and dense bud formation: the indica influence gives compact, resinous buds, while the sativa lineage adds a mild euphoric lift, ideal for anyone after both mental and physical relaxation.
Candy KushĀ Effects
Candy Kush offers a harmonious blend of calming and euphoric effects, ideal for relaxation and a lift in mood. Its indica-leaning genetics give a soothing body high, while the sativa influence adds a gentle, happy and talkative cerebral lift, often described as uplifting and blissful.
For recreational users it is a balanced experience, perfect for unwinding without heavy sedation. Many also turn to it for support with anxiety, low mood and sleep, a versatile profile for a wide range of needs, and its sweet, candy-like flavor only adds to the enjoyment. Effects vary from person to person.
Germinating Candy Kush Seeds
It is important to germinate your Candy Kush seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, from Blimburn Seeds we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique.
Before removing our Candy Kush seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. The PH of our hands full of bacteria can easily infect them and ruin our germination.
Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.
Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours.
Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.
Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 69.8 ĀŗF ā 78.8 ĀŗF (21 ĀŗC ā 26 ĀŗC) in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 6.5.
Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.
Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines.
Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.
Candy Kush Seeds Flowering Time
Candy Kush has a flowering time of approximately 8 to 10 weeks, reasonably fast for growers. Indoors it performs well in controlled environments, producing dense, resinous buds with the sweet, aromatic profile characteristic of its lineage.
Outdoors it also achieves successful yields in mild to warm climates. That moderate flowering period and robust genetics make it suitable for growers of all levels, a rewarding harvest with excellent bud quality and consistent, reliable results.
How to Grow Candy Kush Seeds?
Candy Kush seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions. The plants are compact, robust, hardy and moderately easy to grow, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your buds:
- Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
- In our customersā experience with Candy Kush, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.
For indoor cultivation, we advise wide, vertical spaces and the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and build up the lower flowers. Feed quality nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages. Outdoors, choose a spot with the most direct sunlight; indoors, set up good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter.
Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ā, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ā cooler than the day. These plants prefer low humidity: 55 to 60% in the vegetative phase, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.
Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in April for a harvest in mid-October, at about 12.35 oz per plant (350 g). Indoors, the cycle runs 8 to 10 weeks with yields of 1.31 to 1.64 oz/ft² (400 to 500 g/m²).
Ideal Climate for Growing
Candy Kush thrives in a warm, temperate climate with sunny summers and mild winters. The ideal range for cultivation is 70 to 80 ā (21 to 27 ā), which ensures vigorous growth and robust yields. It performs exceptionally well in areas with low humidity and good airflow to prevent mold and disease, and well-draining soil is crucial for healthy root development.
In the United States, the best states include California, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and Florida, all with the sunny, warm climate Candy Kush craves, which brings out its rich flavors and potency. In these locations, with the right temperatures, growers can maximize their harvest and enjoy the strainās unique character.
What does the Strain Smell Like?
The buds of Candy Kush are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. On the palate it lives up to its name: sweet, candy-like fruit over a kushy, subtly earthy base inherited from its OG Kush and Trainwreck parents.
Candy Kush makes for a smooth, soft smoke and a strong, relaxing experience. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates that capture its sweet, fruity profile.
Experiencing the Strain
With a Medium THC of 14% to 19%, Candy Kush brings a happy, relaxed and talkative state of mind and body. It leaves you cheerful and sociable, pairing an easygoing head with a comfortable body, perfect for the evening after a long day.
It is a mostly indica plant with a sturdy main stem that supports its satellite branches. It grows well indoors or outdoors, with a similar production and a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.
Candy Kush seeds are a mostly indica strain that takes around 8 to 10 weeks from germination to harvest. Feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.

Cannabis Candy Kush Terpenes
Candy Kush carries a broad eighteen-terpene profile that explains both its sweet, candy-like aroma and its balanced, happy-yet-relaxed effect, with four terpenes doing most of the work.
Myrcene is the heart of the profile, a ripe, earthy-fruity note with a faint muskiness that grounds the sweetness and gives the smoke its weight. It is widely associated with a deeply relaxing, sedative quality. In Candy Kush it drives the comfortable body high and sits behind the strainās use for restful sleep.
Limonene brings a bright citrus lift that lightens the candy sweetness and is commonly associated with an uplifted, positive mood. It feeds the happy, talkative side of the effect and ties into the strainās reputation for easing low mood and anxiety.
Linalool adds a soft, floral note with a faint sweetness, widely linked to a calming, stress-easing quality that settles an overactive mind. Here it works alongside the Myrcene to quiet racing thoughts, supporting the strainās use for anxiety and insomnia.
Caryophyllene contributes a warm, peppery spice that adds a subtle kushy depth beneath the sweeter tones. It is the one terpene that interacts with the bodyās CB2 receptors and is widely tied to calming, tension-soothing properties, reinforcing the strainās stress-easing, relaxing character.
Rounding out the profile, Terpinolene and Citral add fresh, fruity-citrus brightness, Terpineol, Borneol and Camphene lend cooling, herbal depth, Alpha-Pinene a touch of pine and clarity, and Alpha-Cedrene, Cadinene, Eugenol, Farnesene, Fenchol, Humulene, Nerolidol and Phytol a subtle woody, spicy and balsamic backbone that completes the aroma.
