With a Medium THC of 18% to 22%, it is a great choice for anyone after a strong, relaxing experience.
Origin
Skunk #1 traces its roots to the late 1970s, built from Acapulco Gold, Afghani and Colombian Gold genetics. It quickly earned a name for robust, consistent performance and became a regular among the winners of cannabis competitions.
It has since been a cornerstone in the breeding of many hybrids, thanks to its stable genetics and reliable qualities, lending its character to strains like Skunk Kush and Lemon Skunk.
Celebrated for its reliability and potency, Skunk #1 has shaped countless popular strains. Whether you are after Skunk #1 feminized seeds or simply exploring its history, its genetic legacy remains a pivotal chapter in cannabis cultivation.
Skunk #1 Strain Awards

Skunk #1 Sativa or Indica?
Skunk #1 is a mostly indica hybrid that still offers a mix of both sides, a 65% Indica / 35% Sativa split. It leans clearly toward indica, pairing a gentle mental lift with a deeply relaxing body high, so users get calm and ease with just enough brightness to stay pleasant.
That balance makes Skunk #1 versatile across occasions, from unwinding in the evening to a mellow afternoon. Cultivators favor Skunk #1 seeds for their stable genetics, which deliver consistent yields and top-quality harvests.

Germinating Skunk #1 Seeds
It is important to germinate your Skunk #1 seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, from Blimburn Seeds we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique.
Before removing our Skunk 1 seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. The PH of our hands full of bacteria can easily infect them and ruin our germination.
Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.
Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.
Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ĀŗF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.
Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.
Skunk #1 Seeds Flowering Time
Skunk #1 has a moderate flowering period of around 8 to 10 weeks. This efficient cycle lets growers plan their harvests and keeps the process timely and productive.
Whether you are an experienced cultivator or a beginner, that manageable flowering time, combined with its balanced, relaxing effects, makes Skunk #1 a valuable addition to any garden.
How To Grow Skunk 1 Seeds?
Skunk #1 seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions. The plants are moderately easy to grow and hardy, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your feminized Skunk #1 buds:
- Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
- In our customersā experience, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.
Indoors, use wide, vertical space and the ScrOG method for a uniform canopy and larger lower flowers. If you prefer to grow outdoors, our grow guide covers optimal cultivation anywhere in the world. Feed proper nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages, and pick an outdoor spot with the most direct sunlight.
Indoors, set up good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter. Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ā, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ā cooler than the day. These feminized plants prefer low humidity: 55 to 60% in the vegetative phase, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.
Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in April for a harvest in October, at about 17.64 oz per plant (500 g). Indoors, the flowering time runs 8 to 10 weeks with yields of 1.31 to 1.8 oz/ft² (400 to 550 g/m²).
Ideal Climate and Conditions
Skunk #1 thrives in a specific set of conditions: long, warm summers and relatively mild, short winters, close to a tropical climate. The best temperature range for growth sits between 70 and 80 ā (21 to 27 ā). Consistent light is key, along with humidity around 40 to 50% during flowering, since higher levels can invite mold or fungus and hurt yields.
In the USA, Skunk #1 flourishes in states with those attributes, including California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Florida. These regions suit its robust, resilient genetics, so cultivators can expect high yields of potent, quality buds. The strain performs well indoors in a controlled setup, but it tends to reach its full potential outdoors where natural conditions prevail.
What Does The Strain Smell Like?
The buds of Skunk #1 are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. On the nose and palate it blends citrus and diesel with the earthy, pungent skunk character that gives the strain its name.
Skunk #1 makes for a smooth, soft smoke behind its strong, relaxing effect. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates that capture its citrus-diesel-skunk profile.
Experiencing The Strain
With a Medium THC of 18% to 22%, Skunk #1 brings a relaxed, happy and settled state that eases both mind and body, leaving most users calm and content. It is first and foremost a strain to unwind with, while still lifting the mood along the way.
A mostly indica plant with a sturdy main stem that supports its satellite branches, it grows well indoors or outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.
As a feminized strain, Skunk #1 has a flowering period of 8 to 10 weeks, and feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.
Skunk #1 Strain Terpenes
Skunk #1ās pungent citrus-diesel-skunk aroma and its calming, sleepy effect come from a deep terpene profile, led by four terpenes.
Myrcene forms the earthy, musky backbone of the strain and is the terpene most tied to body relaxation and sleep. It drives the heavy, settling calm behind Skunk #1ās reputation for easing insomnia and winding the body down at the end of the day.
Caryophyllene brings the spicy, diesel-like edge that sharpens the skunky aroma. As the terpene known for calming inflammation and physical tension, it reinforces the strainās relief for muscle spasms and bodily stress.
Valencene adds a bright, sweet-citrus note, the source of the citrus side of the flavor, and lends a gentle lift that balances the sedation and supports the strainās use against low mood.
Humulene contributes an earthy, hoppy warmth and pairs with Caryophyllene in easing inflammation and muscular tension, deepening the strainās soothing, body-focused character.
Rounding out the profile, Alpha-Pinene and Beta-Pinene add a crisp pine freshness and mental clarity, while Borneol, Eucalyptol, Alpha-Phellandrene and Phytol fill in the herbal, camphor and restful notes that complete Skunk #1ās classic aroma.
