Lineage Purple Gelato strain

Purple Gelato is a mostly indica hybrid, 55% Indica / 45% Sativa, born from crossing Purple Haze with Gelato. It carries a berry, citrus, earthy and sweet flavor over a strong, mostly indica body high.

With a THC of 19% to 22%, it is a great choice for anyone after a strong, flavorful experience.

Origin

Purple Gelato is an indica-dominant strain, a high-quality Californian variety that earns its name from its purple hues and gourmet aroma. Its Gelato side combines the genes of Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint GSC.

Sherbet, known for its powerful high, descends from classic GSC crossed with Pink Panties, with a complex aroma of skunky citrus, sweet berry and caramel. The other side is a GSC phenotype carrying Durban Poison and OG Kush genetics.

On its Purple Haze side, the strain inherits qualities from Haze and Purple Thai, for a complex, well-balanced hybrid. That unique blend makes it a favorite for recreational and medicinal users alike.

Purple Gelato Sativa or Indica?

Purple Gelato is indica-leaning, 55% Indica / 45% Sativa, with a calming body base that helps ease stress, tension and physical discomfort. It is a nearly balanced hybrid.

Its substantial sativa side comes through as a euphoric, creative, energetic head, so the experience pairs a relaxed body with an upbeat mind, equally suited to a daytime lift or a soothing evening.

Purple Gelato Strain Effects

Purple Gelato delivers a creative, energetic and euphoric head over a soothing body relaxation. Its sativa half sparks the mind and lifts the mood, while its indica side keeps the body comfortable, a well-rounded, balanced experience. Many also turn to it for support with anxiety, low mood and everyday pain.

It is also known for its pleasant, sweet flavors, which pair with those balanced effects for an enjoyable session. Purple Gelato is great for recreational use and offers medicinal benefits too. Effects vary from person to person.

Germinating Purple Gelato seeds

It is important to germinate your weed seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, at Blimburn Seeds, we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique. Before removing ourĀ Purple GelatoĀ seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. Our hands are full of bacteria that can easily infect seeds and ruin our germination.

Set Up Your Germination Station:Ā Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.

Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.

Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 69.8 ĀŗF – 78.8 ĀŗF (21 ĀŗC – 26 ĀŗC) in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 6.5. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.

Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not useĀ alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.

Purple Gelato Flowering Time

Purple Gelato has a flowering time of 8 to 10 weeks, a relatively quick, easy strain to cultivate. Its well-balanced genetics deliver high-quality, dense, resin-coated buds that reflect its exceptional lineage.

Growers can expect reliable results, with plants that thrive indoors and outdoors. Its short flowering period and high yield potential make it a favorite among growers after consistency and quality.

How to grow Purple Gelato Seeds?

Purple Gelato seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions. The plants are compact, robust and moderately easy to grow, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your buds:

  • Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
  • In our customers’ experience, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.

For indoor cultivation, we advise wide, vertical spaces and the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and build up the lower flowers. Feed quality nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages. Outdoors, choose a spot with the most direct sunlight; indoors, set up good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter.

Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ℉, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. These plants prefer low humidity: 55 to 60% in the vegetative phase, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.

Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in April for a harvest in mid-October, at about 2.12 to 4.23 oz per plant (60 to 120 g). Indoors, the cycle runs 8 to 10 weeks with yields of 1.64 to 1.97 oz/ft² (500 to 600 g/m²).

Ideal Climate for Growing

Purple Gelato flourishes in a temperate climate with long, sunny days and mild nights. The optimal range is 70 to 80 ℉ (21 to 27 ā„ƒ), which promotes healthy growth and brings out its distinctive flavors and potent effects. Light matters, so aim for at least six hours of direct sunlight a day, and use well-draining soil that allows good aeration and moisture retention.

In the United States, an ideal climate is found in California, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada and Florida, with the warm temperatures and ample sunlight the plants need. Free from frost damage, growers can enjoy a longer season and maximize yield and quality. In these locations, Purple Gelato brings out its best, for a bountiful harvest rich in flavor and potency.

What does the strain smell like?

The buds of Purple Gelato are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. On the palate it blends sweet berry and bright citrus over an earthy base, the creamy, fruity sweetness of its Gelato side meeting the berry notes of Purple Haze.

Purple Gelato makes for a smooth, soft smoke and a strong, flavorful experience. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates that capture its sweet berry-citrus profile.

Experiencing the strain

With a Medium THC of 19% to 22%, Purple Gelato is a flavorful hybrid with a gorgeous aroma. It brings a happy, creative and euphoric lift over a relaxed body, leaving you cheerful and at ease.

It works from a creative afternoon into an easy evening. A mostly indica plant with a sturdy main stem that supports its satellite branches, it grows well indoors or outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.

Purple Gelato seeds are a mostly indica strain with a flowering period of 8 to 10 weeks. Feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.

Purple Gelato terpenes

Purple Gelato carries an eight-terpene profile that shapes both its berry-citrus aroma and its balanced, euphoric-yet-relaxing effect, with four terpenes doing most of the work.

Limonene brings a bright citrus note that drives much of the citrus flavor and is widely linked to an uplifted, positive mood. It anchors the euphoric, creative head and ties into the strain’s use for low mood.

Caryophyllene contributes a warm, peppery spice and is the one terpene that interacts with the body’s CB2 receptors. Widely associated with calming, anti-inflammatory properties, it sits behind the strain’s use for anxiety and everyday pain.

Myrcene adds a ripe, earthy-berry note that grounds the sweetness and provides the relaxing body weight from the indica side, supporting its use for physical tension.

Linalool adds a soft, floral sweetness commonly linked to a calming, stress-easing quality. It settles the nervous system and balances the energetic head, a natural fit for anxiety and low mood.

Rounding out the profile, Alpha-Pinene and Beta-Pinene add a fresh pine edge and a touch of focus, Terpinolene a fruity-sweet brightness, and P-Cymene a subtle spicy-citrus depth, while the signature berry-sweet character owes much to the Purple Haze and Gelato sides of the family.
