Lineage Lemon Kush strain
Lemon Kush is a mostly indica hybrid, 55% Indica / 45% Sativa, built from Afghani, South American, Lemon G and Master Kush genetics. It carries an earthy, piney flavor, lifted by the bright lemon note it is named for, over a strong, relaxing body high.
With a High THC that reaches up to 17% to 26%, it is a great choice for anyone after a strong, relaxing experience.
Origin
Lemon Kush comes from a careful blend of American and European breeding. First cultivated in the United States, it was developed to draw out the best of its parent strains, Lemon G and Master Kush, and those roots show in its powerful citrus aroma and robust growth.
European breeders later refined it to improve its adaptability across climates and growing conditions. The result is a versatile strain that thrives in diverse environments, delivering consistent yields and a refreshing flavor profile with broad appeal.
Lemon Kush Awards
Lemon Kush achieved 2nd Place, Sativa at Spannabis 2020, one of Europe’s leading cannabis competitions, a recognition that highlights its refined terpene profile, vibrant citrus expression and balanced performance under competitive evaluation.
Its success continued internationally with 1st Place, Breeders at the Emerald Cup 2021, a distinction that underscores its elite genetic development, structural consistency and breeding excellence. Together, these accolades reinforce Lemon Kush’s reputation as a high-caliber variety recognized for both cultivation performance and genetic innovation.
Lemon Kush Strain Sativa or Indica?
Lemon Kush is primarily indica, 55% Indica / 45% Sativa, offering the relaxing, body-centric effect typical of indica-leaning strains. It keeps some sativa genetics, but the indica traits are more pronounced, which makes it an excellent choice for relaxation and stress relief, and also lends it compact growth and dense bud formation.
Despite that indica lean, it still provides a subtle mental uplift, a balanced option for anyone after both physical relaxation and a mild cerebral high. It suits evening use when you want to unwind without being overly sedated.
Lemon Kush Strain Effects
Lemon Kush pairs a soothing body relaxation with a gentle, happy uplift. Users often report a wave of calm that eases stress and tension, with a talkative, sociable edge, while a clear-headed high keeps creativity and focus intact without anxiety.
It is also noted for helping with arthritis, insomnia and pain, which makes it a popular choice among medicinal users. Its balanced effects are versatile, whether you want to relax after a long day or seek relief from aches or sleepless nights. Effects vary from person to person.
Germinating Lemon Kush seeds
It is important to germinate your weed seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, at Blimburn Seeds, we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique. Before removing our Lemon Kush seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. Our hands are full of bacteria that can easily infect seeds and ruin our germination.
Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.
Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.
Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ºF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.
Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.
Lemon Kush Strain Flowering Time
Lemon Kush flowers in 8 to 10 weeks, a relatively quick turnaround. The plants are known for dense, resin-coated buds with a strong citrus aroma, the signature of their Lemon G parentage, and that short flowering period makes it a favorite for a fast, rewarding harvest.
It also suits both indoor and outdoor cultivation, thanks to its resilience and adaptability. The plants stay compact, ideal for smaller spaces, while still producing abundant yields of high-quality, potent buds.
How to grow Lemon Kush Seeds?
Lemon Kush seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions. The plants are compact, robust and moderately easy to grow, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your buds:
- Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
- In our customers’ experience, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.
Indoors, use wide, vertical space and the ScrOG method for a uniform canopy and larger lower flowers. If you prefer to grow outdoors, our grow guide covers optimal cultivation anywhere in the world. Feed proper nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages, and indoors set up good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter. Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ℉, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.
These feminized plants prefer low humidity: 55 to 60% in the vegetative phase, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.
Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in April for a mid-October harvest, at about 21.16 oz per plant (600 g). Indoors, the flowering time runs 8 to 10 weeks with yields of 1.47 to 1.8 oz/ft² (450 to 550 g/m²).
Ideal Climate for Cultivating
Lemon Kush flourishes best in a tropical climate of warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The optimal temperature range is 70 to 80 ℉ (21 to 27 ℃), ideal for maximizing both growth and potency. It benefits from humidity around 50% in vegetative growth, dropping to about 40% in flowering, and a consistent light source is key to its characteristic dense buds and strong yield.
In the United States, the most suitable states include California, Oregon, Nevada and Arizona on the West Coast, plus Florida. To the south, Texas works for most of the year, and on the East Coast, North Carolina and Georgia are favorable for much of it. In all of these, indoor cultivation with controlled climate and light enables year-round success. With the right care and climate, Lemon Kush feminized seeds thrive, letting growers enjoy the rich aroma and potent effects of this popular strain.
What does the strain smell like?
The buds of Lemon Kush are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. On the palate it blends earthy and piney notes with the bright, zesty lemon note the strain is named for, inherited from its Lemon G parent.
Lemon Kush makes for a smooth, soft smoke behind its strong, relaxing effect. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates that capture its earthy, citrus-laced profile.
Experiencing the strain
With a High THC that can reach 17% to 26%, Lemon Kush brings a happy, relaxed and talkative state that lifts the mood while easing the body, leaving most users cheerful and content.
It is a fine choice for the evening after a long day. A mostly indica plant with a sturdy main stem that supports its satellite branches, it grows well indoors or outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.
As a feminized strain, Lemon Kush has a flowering period of 8 to 10 weeks, and feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.
Lemon Kush Strain terpenes
Lemon Kush pairs an earthy, piney aroma with a bright lemon lift and a relaxing effect, built on a deep terpene profile led by four terpenes.
Myrcene forms the earthy, musky backbone of the strain and is the terpene most tied to body relaxation and restful sleep. It drives the settling calm behind Lemon Kush’s use for insomnia and everyday aches.
Caryophyllene adds a spicy, peppery depth and is the terpene best known for easing inflammation and discomfort at the receptor level, anchoring the strain’s relief for arthritis and pain.
Citral supplies the zesty, lemon-citrus note that gives Lemon Kush its name and signature aroma, a bright lift that balances the heavier earthy base.
Alpha-Pinene brings a crisp pine sharpness, the source of the piney side of the flavor, along with a touch of clarity that keeps the relaxation from turning heavy.
Rounding out the profile, Humulene adds an earthy, hoppy depth to the anti-inflammatory side, Eugenol a warm clove spice, and Borneol, Camphene, Fenchol, Cadinene, Farnesene and Alpha-Cedrene a woody, camphor-like layer that completes the aroma.
