Lineage Afghan Autoflower

Afghan Autoflower is a mostly indica autoflowering hybrid, 90% Indica / 10% Sativa, from crossing Afghani x Ruderalis. It carries citrus, spicy and woody flavors over a strong, mostly indica high.

With a Medium THC of 15% to 17%, it is a great choice for anyone after a strong, relaxing experience.

Origin

The Afghan Auto strain was first developed by European breeders as one of the earliest Afghani genetics crossed with Ruderalis to create autoflowering varieties, prized for their fast flowering and ease of cultivation. It retains the classic Afghani traits of dense buds and a strong, earthy aroma, a staple in European gardens.

Afghan Auto has been a key building block for many popular autoflowering varieties. It has been used in several autos from Blimburn, such as Sweet Afghan Delicious Auto F1, Afghan x Black Domina Auto and Afghan Kush. These strains combine its quick cycle with enhanced potency and flavor, a preferred choice among European growers.

Afghan Auto Sativa or Indica?

Afghan Auto is a predominantly indica strain, 90% Indica / 10% Sativa, inheriting the classic traits of its Afghani genetics. It is revered for its resilience and robust growth, a favorite among cultivators after a straightforward autoflowering variety.

That indica dominance gives a compact structure, ideal for indoor or discreet outdoor growing. Its genetics bring a soothing, relaxing effect typical of indica strains, for a calming experience.

Afghan Autoflower Effects

The effects of Afghan Auto are deeply relaxing, a quintessential indica experience with a comforting body high that can soothe muscles and calm the mind. It is well suited to evening use, easing into relaxation and often helping with sleep, and many turn to it for support with insomnia and muscle spasms.

Beyond the physical calm, it adds a mild euphoria that can lift the mood, a well-rounded choice for those seeking relief from stress and low spirits. Its autoflowering nature takes nothing away from the quality of its effects, a reliable pick for medicinal and recreational users alike. Effects vary from person to person.

Germinating Afghan Auto Seeds

It is important to germinate your Afghan Autoflower cannabis seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our autoflower cannabis seeds, from Blimburn Seeds we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique.

Before removing our Afghan AutoĀ cannabis seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. The PH of our hands full of bacteria can easily infect them and ruin our germination.

Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.

Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.

Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 69.8 ĀŗF – 78.8 ĀŗF (21 ĀŗC – 26 ĀŗC) in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 6.5. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.

Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.

Afghani Autoflower Flowering Time

Afghan Auto is known for its quick flowering, a hallmark of autoflowering strains, completing its seed-to-harvest cycle in about 8 to 10 weeks. That rapid turnaround is ideal for cultivators after a fast, efficient grow without compromising on potency or effect.

Its genetics adapt well to a range of growing conditions, a robust choice for novice and experienced growers alike. The swift cycle allows several harvests in a single season, especially in favorable climates, maximizing yield and efficiency.

Grow Info Afghan Auto

Afghan Autoflower seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, which helps avoid problems during their development. The plants are compact, robust, hardy and moderately easy to grow, though it is always worth guarding against pests.

A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your Afghan Auto buds:

  • Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
  • In our customers’ experience with Afghan Autoflower seeds, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.

Autoflowering seeds are popular for their fast cycle and for flowering automatically after a set time, rather than relying on a change in the light schedule. They can grow and flower on as little as 12 hours of light a day, with no need to switch light hours to move from veg to bloom, though we recommend 18/6 or 20/4 for medium yields.

This gives growers more control over the process and an easier optimal environment to maintain. Even so, the plants still need enough light for healthy growth, since the quality and quantity of light affect yield and development.

Another advantage is the short life cycle: these plants grow and flower in as little as 8 to 10 weeks, which allows several harvests a year. Autos also stay smaller and more compact, ideal for small spaces or indoors. Good genetics and growing conditions still matter, and many autoflowering strains have won awards for taste, aroma and effects, proof they can produce high-quality cannabis.

Feed quality nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages. Outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a spot where the plants get the most hours of sunshine. Indoors, set up good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and a quality carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law.

Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ℉, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. Autos prefer low humidity: 55 to 60% in the vegetative phase, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.

Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in April for a first harvest in mid-summer and a second between July and mid-October, at about 2.12 to 3.53 oz per plant (60 to 100 g). Indoors, the cycle runs 8 to 10 weeks with yields of about 1.31 oz/ft² (400 g/m²).

Ideal Climate for Cultivating

Afghan Autoflower thrives in a warm, tropical climate, in keeping with its Afghani roots. The ideal range is 70 to 80 ℉ (21 to 24 ā„ƒ) for optimal growth. The strain is extremely resistant to changes in climate and to pests, which makes it ideal for beginners, and it performs best with consistent, indirect sunlight.

In the United States, states whose climates suit Afghan Autoflower include Arizona, California, Nevada and Texas, mainly for their warm conditions. States like Florida, Georgia and North Carolina can also work for this resilient strain, with careful watering given their more humid conditions. Growers in these states will find Afghan Autoflower flourishes, showing off its unique genetics and potent effects.

What does the strain smell like?

The buds of Afghan Autoflower are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. On the palate it leans citrusy, with spicy and woody notes rounding it out.

Afghan Autoflower makes for a smooth, soft smoke and a strong, relaxing experience. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates that capture its citrus, spicy and woody character.

Experiencing the strain

With a Medium THC of 15% to 17%, Afghan Auto brings a happy, relaxed state of body and mind with good focus. It is a soothing option that leaves you cheerful and at ease, and many turn to it for support with low spirits and everyday tension.

It is ideal in the evening after a long day. A mostly indica plant with a sturdy main stem that supports its satellite branches, it grows well indoors or outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.

Afghan Autoflower is a mostly indica strain that takes about 8 to 10 weeks from germination to harvest. Feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.

Afghan Autoflower terpenes

Afghan Autoflower carries a broad ten-terpene profile that shapes both its citrus, spicy and woody aroma and its deeply relaxing indica high, with four terpenes leading the way.

Myrcene heads the profile with an earthy, mildly fruity, woody depth that defines much of the Afghani character. It is widely associated with a relaxed, body-soothing feel, central to the calm that makes this strain a go-to for insomnia and restless nights.

Caryophyllene adds a warm, peppery spice that lines up with the strain’s spicy note. It is the one terpene that interacts with the body’s CB2 receptors and is widely linked to calming, tension-easing properties, part of the relief Afghan Auto is turned to for muscle spasms.

Humulene rounds out the base with a dry, earthy, hoppy, woody note that echoes the Myrcene. It is widely tied to soothing, anti-inflammatory qualities, reinforcing the body-easing character behind the strain’s use for muscle tension.

Valencene lifts the top of the aroma with a fresh, sweet citrus note that drives the citrus side of the flavor. It is widely linked to an uplifting, mood-brightening quality, a bright counterpoint to the heavy body calm that supports the strain’s use for low mood.

Rounding out the profile, Alpha-Pinene and Beta-Pinene add crisp pine freshness, Eucalyptol a cool, camphor-like edge, Alpha-Phellandrene a green, minty-citrus lift, and Borneol and Phytol round the base with soft, balsamic, herbal tones.
