Since its founding in 2002, Spannabis has been the crown jewel of cannabis culture in Europe an annual pilgrimage for growers, activists, professionals, and enthusiasts from all over the world. But this year, held from March 14–16, marked the end of an era. Spannabis 2025 was the final edition to take place in its iconic home of Barcelona. As bittersweet as the news may be, the event went out with a bang drawing record-breaking attendance and delivering one of the most memorable cannabis experiences to date.
Even with a gray and rainy start on Day One, thousands of attendees stood in line for hours, umbrellas in hand and excitement in the air. The weather did little to dampen the spirit of the crowd. When the sun broke through on Day Two, the energy shifted entirely. The venue came alive as music poured through the air and visitors roamed the sprawling grounds, checking out everything from innovative vaporizers to terpene-rich buds.
More than 280 companies from across the globe showcased the latest in cannabis cultivation, tech, and lifestyle ranging from seed banks and nutrient brands to paraphernalia, CBD products, and next-gen grow systems. It was a melting pot of culture, business, and innovation.
But this event is more than just an expo it’s a full-spectrum cannabis experience. Surrounding the main event were a series of high-level conferences and gatherings that added serious value to the trip. The International Cannabis Business Conference (ICBC) returned as a hub for professionals looking to discuss the latest developments in global cannabis policy and investment. The World Cannabis Conference brought together thought leaders to examine scientific, economic, and legislative advances shaping the future of the plant. Meanwhile, the Spannabis Champions Cup crowned the finest flowers, extracts, and products in the game, offering a coveted badge of honor in the global cannabis community. And for business-minded attendees, CannabisHub’s C-Days provided in-depth discussions on scaling operations, brand building, and navigating complex markets.
The event welcomed over 3,900 cannabis professionals and more than 25,000 visitors, each adding their own energy to this vibrant celebration of cannabis culture. Whether you came to discover the next big product, listen to industry pioneers, connect with fellow advocates, or simply soak in the atmosphere, there was truly something for everyone.
Beyond the main event, one of the weekend’s most exclusive gatherings was hosted by Blimburn Seeds at the Novotel Hotel. This annual soirée brought together founders and CEOs from some of the world’s leading seed banks, cannabis brands, and media outlets for an elegant evening of champagne, wine, and oysters. It was a rare moment of connection, reflection, and celebration among the industry’s top minds an intimate reminder of the deep community that exists behind the scenes of this global movement.

As the weekend came to a close, a sense of nostalgia and gratitude hung in the air. Barcelona has been the spiritual home of this event for more than two decades. Its laid-back vibe, international flavor, and cannabis-friendly atmosphere made it the perfect backdrop for such a legendary event. But change is the only constant and in 2026, Spannabis will head to Bilbao, kicking off a new chapter from April 2026 onward.
The final Barcelona edition was not just a farewell, but a celebration of how far we’ve come as a community. The event reminded us all why we fell in love with this plant and why we’ll continue to follow it wherever the road may lead.
