Lineage Strawberry Cough Strain

Strawberry Cough is a mostly sativa hybrid (70% Sativa / 30% Indica) born from the cross of Strawberry Fields and Old Haze, its energizing cerebral character inherited from that classic Haze lineage. It carries earthy, herbal and sweet flavors over a bright, mostly sativa high.

With a Medium THC of 19% to 23%, it is a good choice for anyone after a happy, uplifting experience with a good dose of energy.

Origin

Born in the late 1990s, the first version of Strawberry Cough was developed by a grower in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The strain combines Strawberry Fields with an Old Haze parent from the renowned Haze lineage, a pairing that gives it both its sweet berry character and its energizing cerebral high. Its distinctive profile quickly drew attention and made it a favorite among American enthusiasts.

Strawberry Cough is celebrated for its sweet, berry-like aroma and smooth smoke, a reflection of its genetics. Growers will find a strain that offers both reliability and an exceptional flavor, a staple in many American gardens.

Strawberry Cough Strain Sativa or Indica?

Strawberry Cough is predominantly sativa, a 70% Sativa / 30% Indica split that delivers a blissful cerebral experience with just a touch of indica relaxation. It is cherished for its uplifting effects, a great match for creative work and social settings.

Cultivators value Strawberry Cough feminized seeds for their stable genetics, which make for robust plants and dependable harvests.

Strawberry Cough Strain Effects

Strawberry Cough delivers a happy, relaxed and composed experience. Its sativa dominance brings a clear-headed, focused mindset, a favorite among artists and thinkers, while its subtle indica side adds a gentle body relaxation that keeps the calm from tipping into drowsiness, leaving users refreshed and content.

Many turn to it to help with fatigue and stress, since its uplifting yet settled character lifts the mood without a racy edge. That harmonious blend makes Strawberry Cough a sought-after choice for both recreational and medicinal users. Effects vary from person to person.

Germinating Strawberry Cough Seeds

It is important to germinate your Strawberry Cough seedsĀ carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, at Blimburn Seeds, we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique.

Before removing our Strawberry Cough seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. Bacteria can easily infect seeds and ruin the germination process, so be sure to wear gloves.

Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.

Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.

Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ĀŗF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.

Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.

Strawberry Cough Seeds Flowering Time

Strawberry Cough has a moderate flowering period of around 8 to 10 weeks. This efficient cycle lets growers plan their harvests and keeps the process timely and productive.

Strawberry Cough feminized seeds, combined with an understanding of their genetics, promise a satisfying grow and a delightful end product for cannabis enthusiasts.

How To Grow Strawberry Cough Seeds?

Strawberry Cough feminized seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions. It is moderately easy to grow and hardy, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your buds:

  • Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
  • In our customers’ experience, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.

Indoors, use wide, vertical space and the ScrOG method for a uniform canopy and bigger lower flowers. If you prefer to grow outdoors, our grow guide covers optimal cultivation anywhere in the world. Feed proper nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages, and set up good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter indoors.

Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ℉, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. These feminized plants prefer low humidity: keep relative humidity at 55 to 60% during the vegetative phase, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.

Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in April for a mid-October harvest, at about 14.11 oz per plant (400 g). Indoors, the flowering time runs 8 to 10 weeks with yields of 1.31 oz/ft² (400 g/m²).

Ideal Climate for Growing

Strawberry Cough thrives in a temperate climate with moderate summers and mild winters. The ideal temperature range is around 70 to 85 ℉ (21 to 29 ā„ƒ). It adapts to various rainfall conditions but does best with annual precipitation of 25 to 40 inches (635 to 1016 mm), and well-draining soil is crucial to prevent waterlogging and root damage.

In the United States, Strawberry Cough suits states that mirror these conditions. It grows well in California, Nevada, Oregon, Arizona and New Mexico, where the summer heat is moderated; in southern states like Georgia, Louisiana, Florida and Texas, thanks to mild winters; and in Midwest states such as Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee. In these climates, the strain brings out its full character and genetic potential.

What Does The Strain Smell Like?

The buds of Strawberry Cough are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. The flavor is a blend of earthy, herbal and sweet notes, with the fresh, sweet strawberry character that gives the strain its name.

Strawberry Cough makes for a smooth, soft smoke with a happy, energetic character. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates that preserve its sweet, berry-forward profile.

If you like this strain, you might also like Carbon Fiber, Reeze McFlurry or Peanut Butter Breath.

Experiencing The Strain

With a Medium THC of 19% to 23%, Strawberry Cough provides a state of happiness, focus and relaxation. It lifts the mood and sharpens the mind while keeping the body at ease, leaving most users cheerful and composed.

Many turn to Strawberry Cough to help with stress and fatigue, and it carries you into a happy, clear-headed state well suited to daytime use. A mostly sativa plant with a sturdy main stem that supports its satellite branches, it grows well indoors or outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.

As a photoperiod feminized strain, Strawberry Cough has a flowering period of 8 to 10 weeks, and feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.

Strawberry Cough Terpenes

Strawberry Cough pairs an earthy, herbal and sweet aroma, with its signature strawberry note, and a happy, relaxed and clear-headed effect, built on three main terpenes. Here is what each one brings.

Alpha-Pinene brings a crisp, piney sharpness tied to alertness and mental clarity, the terpene behind the strain’s focused, energizing character that helps lift fatigue and brain fog.

Myrcene forms the earthy, herbal base and is the terpene most tied to body relaxation and soothing discomfort. It adds the gentle physical ease that balances the cerebral lift and is a fit for the strain’s use with muscle spasms.

Bisabolol rounds out the profile with a soft, floral, chamomile-like note widely associated with calm and soothing, which quiets the nerves and supports the strain’s value for stress. Together, these three give Strawberry Cough an earthy, herbal and sweet aroma with a happy, relaxed and clear-headed effect. The fresh strawberry note of the flavor comes mainly from its Strawberry Fields lineage.

I was skeptical after I received my order. The seeds did not look like I had them pictured in my mind. To my joyful surprise I had a 100% germination rate. It’s up to me now.

How To Grow Strawberry Cough

Read Now

Expect a classic, lanky Sativa structure. Strawberry Cough grows into a medium-to-tall plant with significant stretching during the flowering phase. It is not a compact plant. It develops long, elegant branches and often produces slightly airy, fox-tailed buds that are completely coated in resin. This open structure is excellent for preventing mold and allows light to penetrate deep into the canopy.

It can be a moderately challenging strain for a first-time grower. While it is very resilient to mold, its Sativa-dominant structure requires some management. Beginners will need to be prepared to control its height with techniques like topping or LST (Low-Stress Training) to prevent it from outgrowing their space. For a beginner who has done their research and is ready for a taller plant, it can be an incredibly rewarding grow.

To manage its significant stretch and maximize yields, topping the plant during the vegetative stage is highly recommended to create a wider, more even canopy. Its long and flexible branches make it an absolutely perfect candidate for a ScrOG (Screen of Green) setup. By weaving the branches through the net, you can control its height and create a massive, flat plane of beautiful, strawberry-scented colas.
