Lineage GMO Strain
GMO, also known as Garlic Cookies or GMO Cookies, is a potent indica-dominant hybrid (90% Indica / 10% Sativa). It combines Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdawg, with a flavor that blends coffee, earthy, fruity and sweet notes over a pungent, savory, diesel-tinged edge. With a High THC of 26% to 28%, GMO delivers intense relaxation, ideal for evening use.
Its unmistakable aroma, with earthy depth and a pungent, savory character, sets it apart from other hybrids. Given its intensity, GMO is favored for evening use, especially by experienced consumers seeking relief from physical tension and stress.
GMO Origin
GMO traces its roots to the USA, bred from American parental genetics, a fusion of premium cannabis lineages. The result is a strain known for its exceptional qualities and distinctive character.
GMO Strain Sativa or Indica?
GMO, also known as Garlic Cookies, is an indica-dominant hybrid, 90% Indica / 10% Sativa. Its makeup leans heavily to the indica side, for a profoundly relaxing, calming experience.
That indica dominance shows in its dense, resinous buds and its tranquilizing high, perfect for relaxation and stress relief.
GMO Effects
GMO delivers a powerful, long lasting high with a euphoric, relaxed and calming character that settles over a deeply relaxed body. Its strong indica base brings the physical calm, while a bright, euphoric lift keeps the head engaged.
Many turn to GMO to help with persistent pain or to unwind after a long day. Its blend of physical and cerebral sensations makes it versatile for both recreational and medicinal users. Effects vary from person to person.
Germinating GMO Strain Seeds
For a thriving harvest, proper germination of your GMO weed seeds is important. Blimburn Seeds suggests a straightforward method to ensure success.
Preparation is Key. Before handling GMO cannabis seeds, remember their delicate nature. Prevent contamination by using sterile tweezers or gloves and sanitized plates or containers.
Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.
Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.
Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ĀŗF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.
Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.
GMO Seeds Flowering Time?
GMO has a moderate flowering period of around 8 to 10 weeks. While not the quickest, the wait is worth it for the strain’s exceptional qualities, and the window gives the genetics time to develop fully, for robust plants and generous yields.
Its ability to thrive both indoors and outdoors makes it an attractive choice for cultivators.
Grow Info
GMO can be grown indoors or outdoors. It is moderately easy to grow and hardy, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors:
- Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
- In our customers’ experience, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.
Indoors, use wide, vertical space and the ScrOG method for a uniform canopy and bigger lower flowers. Provide good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter, and feed proper nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages.
Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ā, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ā cooler than the day. Keep relative humidity at 55 to 60% during vegetative growth, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.
Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in spring for a harvest in October, at about 28.22 to 42.33 oz per plant (800 to 1200 g). Indoors, the flowering time runs 8 to 10 weeks with yields of 1.31 to 1.64 oz/ft² (400 to 500 g/m²).
Perfect Conditions for Cultivating
GMO is known for its high yield and substantial THC content, and to reach its potential it needs a warm, tropical climate, with temperatures around 70 to 85 ā (21 to 29 ā) through most of the growth phase. These conditions bring out its potency and improve its yield.
In the United States, several states offer ideal conditions: California, Oregon, Nevada and Arizona, known for warm climates, along with the southern states of Texas, Florida and Georgia. The humid subtropical climates of North Carolina and Tennessee also work well. Growing GMO under the right conditions sets up an impressive harvest.
What Does The GMO Strain Smell Like?
The buds of GMO are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes.
The taste and aroma blend coffee, earthy, fruity and sweet notes, over the pungent, savory, diesel-tinged character that gives GMO its name, with hints of garlic and fuel.
It makes for a smooth, soft smoke with a strong, relaxing character. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates.
Experiencing The GMO Strain
With a High THC of 26% to 28%, GMO brings a state of happiness and deep relaxation. It relaxes the body while lifting the mood, leaving most users cheerful and content.
GMO is a good choice for the evening after a long day. A mostly indica plant with a sturdy main stem and satellite branches, it grows well indoors or outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.
As a photoperiod feminized strain, it has a flowering period of 8 to 10 weeks, and feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.
GMO Strain Terpenes
GMO pairs a coffee, earthy, fruity and sweet aroma, with its signature pungent, savory edge, and a euphoric, uplifted head over a deeply relaxed body. Its rich profile is built on nine terpenes.
Caryophyllene and Humulene lead the earthy, peppery depth. Caryophyllene is the only terpene known to bind the body’s CB2 receptors, and together with humulene it is widely associated with easing tension and inflammation, the backbone of GMO’s value for arthritis and pain.
Myrcene forms the musky, earthy base and is the terpene most tied to body relaxation and a sedative feel, driving the deep physical calm of this heavy indica and its use with sleep.
Linalool and Nerolidol add soft floral and woody notes widely tied to calm and tranquility, reinforcing the soothing, wind-down quality.
Alpha-Pinene and Beta-Pinene bring a crisp, piney sharpness linked to alertness and mental clarity, which keeps the head euphoric and uplifted rather than foggy.
Terpinolene adds a fresh, herbal brightness that lifts the aroma, and Geranyl Acetate contributes a sweet, floral-fruity nuance that rounds out the profile. Together, these nine give GMO a complex, savory-sweet aroma with a euphoric, uplifted head over a deeply relaxed body.

How To Grow GMO
Read NowGMO grows like a modern American hybrid and is not a compact plant. Expect a medium-to-tall plant with a significant amount of stretch during the first few weeks of flowering, a trait inherited from its vigorous Chemdog and GSC lineage. It develops a very strong main stem with excellent, long side-branching, a perfect structure for training.
While it’s primarily known for its incredibly frosty, light-green appearance, some phenotypes of GMO can develop beautiful colors. Thanks to its GSC lineage, especially with slightly cooler nighttime temperatures late in flowering, you may see attractive deep purple and magenta hues on the sugar leaves, creating a stunning contrast with its thick coating of resin. A 8-10 week flowering time is a bit long for an Indica.
That extended flowering period is what allows GMO to develop its legendary characteristics. This extra time is crucial for the plant to produce its extremely high THC content (often over 28%) and its incredibly complex and pungent terpene profile. The patience is rewarded with a harvest of true connoisseur-grade cannabis that is far superior in potency and flavor to faster-finishing strains.
