Thousands take the streets in Madrid for the Global Marijuana March

They claim to respect the rights of users and achieve appropriate regulations

Good weather, festive feeling and a vindictive character were three of the main ingredients of the Madrid version of the Global Marijuana March that is celebrated on the first Saturday of May in cities around the world.

Each passing year seems key to moving towards legislative changes that will allow cannabis legalization. So the organizers of the march in the Spanish capital point out that it is necessary to show in the streets that society demands a change in the current drug policy. They claim that political will aims to respect the rights of users and achieve appropriate regulation.

The march served to celebrate the cannabis culture and to enjoy a day with people of all types and conditions. But especially to spend an afternoon in defense of individual freedom, whether the demonstrators were smokers or not.

In coming days, the Spanish congress will discuss the legislation that fines for possession and consumption in public places. Therefore, the motto of the main banner of the demonstration was to stand up against fines.

A Marihuana TV crew attended last week’s march in the Spanish capital and they have just published a video with the highlights of the parade. Let’s enjoy it!
